We're launching byaccuor.com. Twenty years of a single idea, at last told in full.
A sentence from 2004, without a single machine behind it
On 16 October 2004 we had no factory, no product, no trade name. We had a sentence:
Water is simply a means of transport. We will transport the right minerals to each person.
Said today, it sounds obvious. In 2004 it was anything but. The water treatment sector was —and to a large extent still is— devoted to removing: removing chlorine, removing limescale, removing particles, removing hardness. Nobody talked about adding. We thought exactly the opposite: that water is not the product but the vehicle, and that what matters travels inside.
It took us eight years to turn that sentence into a machine that could be sold. Eight years of laboratory work in Barcelona before we billed a single euro. We didn't arrive at water from plumbing or from home appliances: we arrived from nutrition. That explains almost everything we do differently.
Today, twenty years on, 120,000 people drink water designed by us every day: at home, in universities and in industry. And at last we have a place to explain it in full. The new byaccuor.com is now online.
What the website tells in full for the first time
1. Screening is not composing
An ordinary filter does just one thing: it holds back. It lets through whatever it doesn't catch, and what comes out depends on what your local water carried in. That's why the same brand of filter delivers different water in Girona than in Almería. You're drinking geology and luck.
We start from zero, in two stages and not one more:
- We remove everything dissolved —chlorine, limescale, contaminants and the minerals too— until the water is left neutral.
- We add exactly what we have decided, in a measured amount, in-line and while the water runs towards the tap.
It's the difference between screening and composing. Or, to put it another way: like a printer that lets exactly the right ink fall onto the blank paper.
On the website we break it down into the three technologies with names of their own that make it possible: Biocore (purification: micro-contaminants, chemical compounds, bacteria, viruses and protozoa), Ecocore (stabilisation without wasting a single drop) and Minbox (mineralisation).
2. Measured amounts, not stone leaching
Here is the point that matters most to us and the one the website now explains plainly.
The usual mineralisation on the market passes the water through a bed of mineral stone and trusts that it will pick up something. How much it picks up depends on the temperature, the flow rate and how worn the stone is. It's a process that cannot be repeated with precision.
Our precise mineral nano-encapsulation doses liquid natural mineral in measured amounts, at the moment of serving. The first glass and the thousandth glass have the same composition.
And that exactness is not an engineer's obsession: it's the condition for everything else. If you can't repeat a composition, you can't give it a name or say what it's for. Without repeatability there's no water menu, no batch-by-batch quality control, no promise to keep.
3. A menu, not a list of flavours
From this come the six waters that can now be consulted in full: Okinawa (table water, coffees and infusions, and clear broths), Aox-Diet (digestive, free radicals, and protects vegetables and shellfish), Hashiru (sport and recovery), Hikari (low mineralisation, bottles and baby food), Essential (bone support, and the al dente of rice, pasta and vegetables) and Nara (low in sodium, encourages intake, and cooking without salt).
These aren't flavours. They're different mineral compositions, each thought out for a use and a stage of life. What you drink during a meal doesn't have to be the same as what you cook pasta with or what you prepare for a baby.
And the choice isn't made from a catalogue: it cross-references your area, your mains water and your habits. Nor is it forever —with the Refresh service the unit's waters are changed on demand, which is exactly what happens when a baby arrives home or a personal circumstance changes.
(The waters help you feel better, but they are not a curative product: their indications are always understood within a balanced diet and do not replace any medical treatment.)
4. Three, six, infinity
The website sets out the full ladder for the first time:
- 3 — the waters your unit serves at the same time.
- 6 — those on the menu to choose from. And it keeps growing.
- ∞ — Origea: the machine that doesn't choose between waters because it makes them all. We've spent twenty years on that.
5. Six doors, because not everyone drinks the same way
Putting water into a home kitchen is not the same as specifying it in an architecture project, serving it at a hundred-cover service, producing it for a hotel or distributing it across an industrial warehouse.
That's why the website doesn't have a single entrance, but six: Home, Projects, Kitchen, Horeca, Businesses and Distributors. Each one speaks the language of whoever decides in that place: dimensions and connections for the architecture studio; water as the first ingredient for the chef; total cost versus the bottle for a hotel's management; margin, area and support for whoever installs and maintains.
The Horeca door is the big new addition. There we present accuor MAX I: cold, ambient, sparkling, hot and boiling water at 100 °C from a single tap, with automatic suppression of the standing water, in the space of a drawer. Although we're launching it in Horeca, accuor MAX I also fits in the home. The underlying idea is simple: that every home or hotel is its own spring. When an establishment works out what water costs it, it looks at the supplier's invoice, but the real cost includes the pallet storage, the staff who load crates, the inbound and glass-return logistics, the losses and the cold room. Producing the water at the point of service eliminates all of that at a stroke.
6. What it doesn't do, which is as important as what it does
- No water reject. A conventional domestic reverse osmosis throws away between three and six litres for every useful litre. Ours, none.
- No electricity in the processors: they work on mains pressure (the models with cooling, sparkling or hot water do carry a power supply).
- No connection to the drain. What is held back is stored and processed at the factory during servicing.
- No avoidable waste. Every filter on the market is replaced whole and ends up in the bin; the refresh system updates the components instead of throwing them away.
We are signatories of the 2030 agreements through the SME Climate Hub, and the units comply with UNE-EN ISO 9001:2015 and UNE 166002:2014.
7. Product names, a single signature
The name says it literally: by accuor, made by. Accuor, Einhaus, Noa, Valenti, Origea and Hit are product names. byaccuor is the people behind all of them. Some things we make ourselves, with our own criteria of design, size and production; others, with industrial partners we choose and supervise. In the OEM units, 95% of the components are made or controlled from here, even if the final product goes out under another brand's name.
That's why a single signature can cover the water you drink, the air you breathe and the ozone you clean with, without being diluted: what we promise is not a category, it's an author.
And something free, without buying anything
On the website there's a door that doesn't sell: conscious hydration, our free app. It cross-references the real heat of your city with your weight and your day and tells you how much water you need, today. No account, no ads and no need to have a unit at home. It seemed to us the best way to start the conversation.
The blind spot
You choose what you eat. You choose how you sleep. You read labels, compare ingredients, argue about oils and flours.
And then you drink whatever comes out.
Water is 98% of what you drink and the last ingredient in your home still decided by someone else: the subsoil and industry. Neither of them knows you.
That is what we've spent twenty years trying to change. Now it's all explained in one place.
